Sean Patrick Flanery - A Short Biography

Sean Patrick Flanery was born on October 11th, 1965, Lake Charles, Louisiana, and raised in Texas. He’s a talented actor, of a Irish descent, a black belt Brazilian Jiu Jitu and Karate fighter and an awesome human being. He attended Houston's University of Saint Thomas where he took some drama classes to be close to a girl he was interested in. While his crush ended up nowhere, his passion for theatre just grew up more and more. He moved to Los Angeles where he waited tables, and later he found an agent. Then all the works started to show up, television commercials, TV shows and movies.

His determination and love for life are a huge inspiration to all his fans. Feel free to know this unique person.

Sean Patrick Flanery as a Martial-Art fighter:

Sean began training martial arts at the age of nine. His main reason to do it was the famous singer Elvis Presley, who also practiced martial arts. After discovering Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, he gave up all the other martial arts to focus on it. In his first three years of BJJ practicing, the legendary Rickson Gracie trained him at the Rickson Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy in Los Angeles and in 2003, Sean won the Pan American being a blue belt at that time (Blue Belt Senior 1 Male, Light). Later, Sean trained at the Renzo Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Manhattan where he received his Black Belt in May 4th, 2008, the first ever awarded by Shawn Williams, Renzo Gracie's own professor. About ten years ago, Sean opened the Hollywood Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy, where he can be found training and teaching his passion.

Sean Patrick Flanery's Victories: 2003 Pan Am Champion, 2003 American Nationals Champion, 2002 1st Annual Inland Empire Champion.

Besides Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Sean is also black belt in Karate and used Muay Thai moves in "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles", Judo moves in "The Boondock Saints", Brazilian Jiu Jitsu moves in "The Dead Zone" and "Deadly Impact" and touchless knockouts using CHI power in "Powder".
